Kimberley & Nicks Lake Argyle Wedding

6/22/26

Okay. I need a second before I can even talk about this one properly.

You know how every now and then a wedding lands in your lap that you just know you’re going to be talking about it for years to come? This was that. Kimberley and Nick said yes to the whole gloriously dusty, sweaty, golden adventure of getting married up in the Kimberley… and let me tell you, Jack (my husband) copped an earful the whole drive home about how I’m never shutting up about this day. (Sorry babe. Not sorry.)

So pour yourself something delicious. We’re going north!

The morning of

Slow starts are my love language, and this one was perfect.

They rented the cliff side villas at Lake Argyle. The boys in one, the girls in another. Both surrounded by their closest as they got ready. It felt like a sleepover with all the girls doing each others hair, nails and makeup!

The ceremony

And then it was time.

Nestled under huge trees along the waters edge of Lake Argyle was Kimberley and Nicks ceremony. Shared with their closest family and friends. A breeze that came through right on cue as Kimberley and Nick walked down their aisle together. Pure magic!

Golden hour, just the two of them by helicopter

This is the part I’d been daydreaming about since the moment they booked. Because Kimberley and Nick didn’t want golden hour in a field. They wanted it in the sky.

So we lifted off. The country fell away beneath us, that endless stitched together patchwork of red and gold and impossible blue water and the two of them just held on to each other and grinned like kids.

No rushing. No stiff posing. Just Kimberley and Nick, a bit giddy, a bit in disbelief, the whole Kimberley spread out underneath them while the sun went every colour it knows how to go.

I’ve shot a lot of golden hours. None of them have looked quite like this.

The celebration – cliffside at Lake Argyle

Back to earth, and to the people who love them most.

There are few places on this earth that throw a backdrop like the cliffs above Lake Argyle. The reception long table dinner sat right out on the edge at Discovery Parks, that vast inland sea stretching to the horizon and catching the last of the light.

Dinner under the stars cooked on open flame by their very own private chef. By the end of the night there were bare feet, happy tears, full hearts, and that particular kind of laughter you only get when everyone’s a little undone by how good the day was.

The best ones always end like this.

Kimberley & Nick

You two trusted me to come along for one of the biggest days of your lives, all the way out in the middle of nowhere-magnificent, and I will be thinking about it for a very long time. Thank you for letting me romanticise the absolute daylights out of your love story. The Kimberley loved you back. I could tell.

Now go enjoy being married. 🤍
